Make Things Happen!

The other day I was excitedly showing my book off to a lady at school. Her response was “Wow! I can’t believe this is happening to you!”

My reply was, “Oh, well I am making it happen!”

Things will not just randomly happen to you. You have got to take action and make things happen in your life! And the more action you take, the faster things can happen for you.

Just last February, I thought to myself “I am going to write a book!” And I did it! And it is now available in bookstores! That is so cool!

You can do anything if you put your mind to it, take action, and grab opportunities as they are presented to you. Go do it now! 🙂

It takes two.

This morning when my alarm went off, I was inspired by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock’s song, “It Takes Two”.

It takes two to make a thing go right…

It takes two to make it outta sight!

Every successful relationship requires all persons involved to put in effort .  One person alone cannot make the world go around, nor should they try to!

When you are a team, and both parties are excited, motivated, and putting the effort in, you can make it “outta sight!”

It is very noticeable when any relationship is one sided. Expectations are placed on one party, while the other party chooses to put their efforts elsewhere.

You can only be responsible for your behavior and your efforts.  And you cannot expect to change others.  If there is a relationship in your life that is not reaching the heights that you expect, you cannot take that all on! Take on your 50% of the responsibility that you have in the relationship, and be sure to communicate with the other party about your feelings.

If you want all of your relationships to soar, it will take two.  Nurture the relationships that fuel you and that create positive results.  Think carefully about relationships that don’t.

And above all, smile and remind yourself that you are amazing.  Namaste!

Cheers to 2012!

Ringing in the New Year this year, I was struck by how profound it was to actually celebrate the start of something new. The excitement that built as we anticipated the arrival of midnight was intense and exciting. Everyone got ready and made sure they were close to the person they wanted to kiss or hug once New Year hit. We were so excited, we started our countdown at 30. By the time we hit “Happy New Year!” the volume in the room was high!

As I went around the room to collect my New Year hugs, I realized something. New Year’s is the perfect time to replenish energy through hugging! You can really get in a lot of hugs all at once, and it feels amazing. The entire room was filled with a buzz of excitement, energy and emotion. You could feel all of the optimism, wonder, and mystery as we welcomed in a new year filled with unknowns, mixed with the many feelings we all had of saying goodbye to another year.

Being surrounded entirely by family and friends in one room was like the icing on the cake of this last year. And a perfect way to start out a fresh new year.

The year of 2012. A year of change. A new start. A clean slate. This is your year. Namaste.

Healthy Body, Healthy Mind

“To keep the body in good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.”
Buddha

Make your body a priority by feeding it healthy food and lots of water. Give yourself 7-9 hours of sleep a day. Add some activity to your life. Having a healthy body that is strong and rested will ensure that you feel calm, relaxed and happy. Boost your confidence by maintaining a healthy body. Namaste.

Remember.

Remember someone today who has done something special for you in the past.  If possible, send them a note, text, email or give them a phone call and tell them how much you appreciated what they did.  If contact with them is not possible, write them a note in your notebook and think fondly of them in your head.  Now, pay that thoughtful act forward and do something special for someone today, and everyday.  Namaste!

Effort.

Effort and action produce results.  Motivation and desire inspire efforts and actions.

Look at your life.  You will notice that you are seeing results in the areas that you are putting the most effort into.  Not getting the results you want? Ask yourself if you are truly putting in the effort.  Then ask yourself if you truly want to get results in that area.    If you are motivated, you will put in the effort.  So, why are you not motivated to get the results you think you want? What is holding back?

You are the only one holding you back.  You can do anything if you put your mind to it. Break the walls down and tell yourself that you CAN do it.

Figure out what you really want, and what really motivates you.  This is the key.  Everything else will fall into place once you have that straight in your own mind.

Motivation.  Effort.  Results.

TGIW!

Namaste.

Imagine that.

“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!”
Dr. Seuss
Just “think” about what you could do! The possibilities are endless, and the only thing holding you back is you.  Let yourself imagine what you could do without restrictions or fear.  Go for it! Namaste!

It’s up to you.

Take full responsibility for where you are in your life.  Do not blame others.  You are in control of your destiny.   Accept the responsibility for where you are now and then embrace with all your heart and soul the knowledge that you have the power change it.
