Roatan Recycling Update.

When I was in Roatan a year ago, there were no recycling facilities that I could see.  The people living here even told me that there was no where to recycle cans and bottles.  If you’ve read my book, I talk about how cans are simply burned or just thrown into the ocean here! My husband and I did discover by asking around that the stores would take the bottles and cans and return them, so we started dropping them off there.  One year later, I am so pleased to report that there are now bottle and can containers located all over the island.    Woo Hoo! What a difference a year can make.  Someone here was thinking, and wanted to help make a change for this island, and for the world. A small thought followed by a small action by one person created a huge change in how things are handled on this island.

You may think that the little things you do don’t add up to much.  But, if the little things you do stimulate others to change their thinking, and then they start doing little things also, eventually we can all change the world just by doing something small.  And that is the way to make change, and save the planet that has been so good to us.  Small actions and small changes in thinking create huge results.  So get out there and do something small today!  Namaste.

Bathing Suits

I have a new bathing suit, and now that our luggage is here (woo hoo!) I get to sport this new suit every day. I just loooove it. The colors are great and it makes me feel like a million bucks. I mentioned out loud the idea that “a new bathing suit can make you feel like a million bucks”. We are vacationing with my dad, and his response was interesting. He made the comment that no matter what body type you have, and no matter what your bathing suit looks like, if you walk with confidence when you have it on, everyone will take notice. Keep your head up, shoulders back, suck your tummy in, look around with interest at everything, keep your arms by your side, and smile. It is all about how you handle yourself that gets you noticed, not what you are wearing or how your body looks. But you will be more willing to walk with that confidence if what you are wearing something that makes you feel good.

It’s not what you wear, but how you wear it. Feel confident about your body and yourself, and then let the world know that you are amazing. Have a wonderful day!

Friendship is a gift!

You can never be sure what the Universe will send your way, but one thing you can count on is that the Universe will send you exactly what you need, when you need it.

Interestingly, my book release party this weekend brought back into my life some people that I have missed dearly, and who I obviously need in my life right now. It also brought me in contact with some amazing new people.

True friendship is a gift that makes your heart swell to a size larger than it was before. A true friend adores you no matter what.   And although time may pass where a friend is not in your life, when that friend returns to your life, it is as if they were never gone.   I want to take this opportunity to welcome back to my life some true friends!

Have faith that the Universe will provide for you, and it will.  Have an amazing day!

It takes two.

This morning when my alarm went off, I was inspired by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock’s song, “It Takes Two”.

It takes two to make a thing go right…

It takes two to make it outta sight!

Every successful relationship requires all persons involved to put in effort .  One person alone cannot make the world go around, nor should they try to!

When you are a team, and both parties are excited, motivated, and putting the effort in, you can make it “outta sight!”

It is very noticeable when any relationship is one sided. Expectations are placed on one party, while the other party chooses to put their efforts elsewhere.

You can only be responsible for your behavior and your efforts.  And you cannot expect to change others.  If there is a relationship in your life that is not reaching the heights that you expect, you cannot take that all on! Take on your 50% of the responsibility that you have in the relationship, and be sure to communicate with the other party about your feelings.

If you want all of your relationships to soar, it will take two.  Nurture the relationships that fuel you and that create positive results.  Think carefully about relationships that don’t.

And above all, smile and remind yourself that you are amazing.  Namaste!

Know when to hold them.

Grab on to a little inspiration from Kenny Rogers…

You’ve got to know when to hold ’em
Know when to fold ’em
Know when to walk away
Know when to run

In life, there will always be opportunities, and situations, that arise.  You have got to assess things intelligently as they come up.  Emotions will get in the way of logic, and you need to be able to trust your gut, and the Universe, to know what to do next.  So, how will you know what to do in a given situation, or what to do when an opportunity is presented? First, seek out as much information as you possibly can.  If the information you need comes to you easily, then you are likely on the right path.  Use the information to help you make a good decision.  Ask others with the right experience, and learn as much as you can.  If you are taking actions, and having trouble getting ahead with an opportunity, don’t fight it.  There will be times when no matter what you do, doors keep getting slammed in your face.  This is the Universe’s way of telling you to move on.  Try something different.  For whatever reason, it is not meant to be.  You have got to let go of the emotional attachment that you have with the opportunity, or situation, and give something else a go.  When it is right, things will seem too easy and things will happen smoothly.  You will feel calm and happy and peaceful.  Hold onto those opportunities.  And run, don’t walk, away from situations that you know are not healthy, or that appear to be the wrong path for you.

Hindsight is always 20/20.  Don’t look back and say “I should have known sooner”.  Listen to yourself, look for signs from the Universe, use your intuition and you will be much more confident in your decisions.  Namaste.

Success Law: Think Big, Focus Small

Success Law:Think Big, Focus Small.

In order to be successful, you need to start getting results in all areas of your life. The results do not have to be big, they just have to be there consistently. Break down your large goals into smaller chunks or pieces. They will need to be small enough to be accomplished in a day, or in a week. Then take action everyday towards accomplishing those small goals. If you are consistent, and you are taking the right actions, you will start seeing results. Reward yourself when you accomplish something small, because all of the little results will add together to get to the big goal. Think big and then focus small. You CAN do anything. Namaste.

Don’t Worry Be Happy

We all know the popular song, Don’t Worry Be Happy.  When my own mother sang this song at a recent karaoke party, it took the song to a whole new level of positive! The essence of this song is the key to ending your anxieties, and finding your balance of happiness. Stop worrying over things you cannot control.  Control the things you can to the best of your abilities.  And then decide to be happy.  Have a joyous Saturday Night everyone.  Namaste.

Obstacles.

When you encounter an obstacle in your life while you are pursuing something, don’t freak out.  The obstacle is not the end of your pursuit.  It is there for a reason.  Don’t give up.  Be more creative about getting around the obstacle.  Ask more questions, and have faith.  The Universe always provides exactly what you need, at exactly the right time.  Namaste.

Visualize.

Visualize yourself successful.

Take 5 minutes today to secure your success by visualizing it.  Sit quietly by yourself with your eyes closed.  Take 3 deep, cleansing breaths.  Then think about yourself.

If you know what being successful will look like for you, visualize yourself being there.  If you have an important exam, presentation, competitive event, or business venture in the works, see yourself actually performing in that event, and see the results you want.   Watch from afar as you successfully complete the task.  While you are watching yourself, practice feeling calm, relaxed and confident.  You’ve got this one in the bag.  You do not feel anxiety about the task because you know that you will be successful at it, and you are prepared. Smile at yourself.  You are going to hit this one out of the park.   Know with everything inside of you that you are going to be wildly successful.  Namaste.
